Bookish Blues

North Hertfordshire
Kitchen Design Project

The Story

This kitchen was for an amazing modern extension on a traditional house. Built in the midst of the lockdown, it was a long time coming, but as they say good things are worth waiting for... Tomas Kitchens don't have to be our own Abstract Five Colours and we can make or match any colour. Believe it or not, the cover of a book was the inspiration for this striking blue!

The Details...

Natural oak elements play really well with the special 'book' blue and tie in with the more traditional elements of the property. Dekton is deployed on the sink run, whilst the island has a huge 'full stave' oak top. Many of hallmarks of naturalSHEER are here - soft-square corners, swept-line end pieces and step out tall elements. A built-in boxCASE, Louis Poulsen pendant lights and a set of Erik Buch bar stools complete the story.

"It was an absolute pleasure to create this wonderful kitchen for these bookish clients!  One of the most challenging aspects was ensuring equal spacing from the windows to the cabinets... which involved extra site visits, long conversations with the builders and making bespoke width drawers - all of which we simply take in our stride here at Tomas Kitchen Living. The end result is exquisite - and perfect for the amazing space created by the top-notch architects and builders."
